Bill Winger founded Winger Associates in 1979 with the creation of a manufacturer’s rep firm headquartered in Minnesota. His focus was in the coal industry and those manufacturers who had products specifically for this market. Utilizing his vast knowledge of the dust collection industry, Bill later added complimentary equipment, such as coal crushers, vibratory feeders, conveyors, and fluid bed dryers.
In 1984 Bill reunited with Carter Day as their local representative, which expanded his product line to the liquid mixing and grain sizing and separation industries. Shortly thereafter, he gained a leading gravimetric feeder company serving the food and plastics industry, in which Bill’s efforts led to a historic gain in national market share in two years’ time.
Knowing that a high quality dust collector bag is a crucial part of a successful dust collection system, he purchased the Carter Day dust collector bag manufacturing business. This very successful on-site manufacturing operation, doing business under the name of Day Filters™, continues to be the only high quality bags built following strict Carter Day OEM specs with felt made only in US mills, for the Carter Day, Donaldson® Torit®, and Air-Cure collectors.
